The Mobile Communications and Computing group

 The Mobile Communications and Computing group at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies at RWTH Aachen University has an opening for a Postdoctoral Research Fellows in 6G wireless systems. Successful candidates will work on cutting-edge research related to future wireless systems, while employing tools and methods from other fields such as machine learning, optimization and distributed computing. They will contribute to writing scientific publications, and are also expected to engage in our teachnig activities.

Interested candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Holding or expected to obtain a Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other related disciplines.
- A solid research record evidenced by high quality publications in high-impact IEEE/ACM journals such as IEEE Transactions and/or top tier IEEE/ACM conferences.
- Strong background in signal processing, wireless communication networks, and protocols.
- Very good programming and scripting skills (e.g., C/C++, Python).
- Hands-on experience with programing SDR platforms is a plus.
- Strong motivation and a willingness to experiment and explore.
- Ability to pursue independent research as well as colaborate in a team.
- Knowledge of optimization, machine learning, control theory, or distributed systems is a major plus.
- Teaching experience is a plus.
- Excellent written and communication skills in English.
Terms of appointment:
- The start date is flexible and can be negotiated with the candidate.
- The initial term of the appointment is for 2 years with a possibility for extension of one more year. The salary corresponds to pay grade EG 13 TV-L of the German public service salary scale (TV-L).
