2019 Journal Citation Reports
On June 20, the Web of Science Group, a Clarivate Analytics company, released the 2019 Journal Citation Reports (JCR).
- Firstly, it covered 11,877 journals, including 283 titles new to the JCR – 108 of them fully open access.
- Further, 81 countries representing research and scholarship
- In 90% of the 236 research categories, there was an increase in the aggregate journal impact factor.
- Furthermore, after an investigation, 17 journals were suppressed from the 2019 JCR. This is to ensure the data’s integrity as they were harming the citation policies.
Journals that also meet the sciences and social sciences criteria enter the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) or Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI). These journals are then eligible for inclusion in the Journal Citation Reports and will receive a Journal Impact Factor.
